Bayern Munich monitoring former Arsenal attacker

Bayern Munich are weighing up the possibility of making a move for former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry, according to the London Evening Standard.

The young German attacker left the Gunners for Werder Bremen last summer for £4.5m, with his performances rightly attracting interest across the continent.

The 21-year-old has seven goals and one assists to his name in the Bundesliga this season to return a WhoScored rating of 7.20 and bagged a hat-trick on his full debut for Germany.

Reports in Germany suggest that there is a clause in Gnabry’s contract, which runs until 2020, that would allow him to leave at the end of the season for £7m

Bayern’s executive chairman Karl-Heniz Rummnigge has refused to comment on the reports, but admits they are monitoring Gnabry’s progress.

“Gnabry is a Bremen player and I don’t want to cause any problems for them,” he said.

“But, of course, we’ll always watch Germany internationals. I don’t know if we’ll do anything with it, because with Arjen Robben’s contract extension we’re well covered out wide for next season.”
