Tottenham homegrown striker signs new contract

Tottenham have announced that teenage striker Troy Parrott has signed a new deal at the club.

The frontman turned 18 this week, and therefore only recently became eligible to sign a professional contract, and the club have announced he has put pen to paper on a deal until 2023.

"We are delighted to announce that Troy Parrott has signed a new contract with the Club until 2023," a statement read on the club's official website.

"The 18-year-old Academy striker has made two competitive first team appearances for us to date, including his Premier League debut against Burnley on 7 December.

"The Dublin-born forward also made his senior international debut for the Republic of Ireland in a friendly win against New Zealand in November."

Fellow youth academy product Japhet Tanganga has also been offered a new contract by Tottenham, with the club keen to tie the 20-year-old down to a long-term deal.

Tanganga has excelled since making his senior Premier League debut against Liverpool last month, impressing at both right and left-back.
