Xavi names two future Barcelona stars

Xavi has earmarked Marco Verratti and Paulo Dybala as future Barcelona stars.

The reigning European champions have long been linked with moves for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Verratti and Juventus star Dybala and speculation is likely to intensify following their former midfielders’ comments.

“Personally, with the arrivals of Aleix [Vidal] and Arda [Turan], no [Barcelona don’t need to sign players at the moment,” he told Mundo Deportivo.

“Maybe something in attack to complement the trident, I don’t know… it’s up to Luis Enrique. I personally don’t see anyone better they could sign. I say that from my heart.

“This squad still has a long way to go. It has perfect balance in every department.

“There’s two players I really like, both of whom I think have Barca’s DNA. They are Marco Verratti and Paulo Dybala.

“They are amazing and, thanks to their quality and style of play, would easily integrate into the [Barca] machine. I see them as future stars at the club.”

Verratti’s style of play and efficiency on the ball would make him an ideal player to slot straight into Barcelona’s midfield three. In fact, only four players boost a greater pass success rate across Europe’s top five leagues than Verratti (93.1%).
