Roma have confirmed they have terminated Ashley Cole’s contract by mutual consent, amid strong speculation linking the former England left-back with a move to LA Galaxy.
Cole, 35, has endured a troubled time in Italy since joining Roma on a free from Chelsea at the end of the 2013/14 campaign.
England’s most capped left-back was omitted from all squads by Rudi Garcia at the start of the season and has been linked with a move to the Premier League and MLS ever since.
However, Cole is widely expected to complete a move to LA Galaxy, where he will join up with fellow international teammate Steven Gerrard and former Spurs striker Robbie Keane.
Cole made 11 appearances during his 18-month stint at Roma, but has not featured competitively since March 2015.
