Liverpool are poised to sign Augsburg defender Ragnar Klavan in a deal worth £4.2m, according to The Guardian.
Jurgen Klopp has earmarked Klavan as his fourth central defender for the upcoming season and the Estonia captain is due to undergo his medical with the Premier League giants on Tuesday.
The Liverpool manager has been forced to sign another central defender after Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez both picked up injuries in pre-season following the departure of Martin Skrtel to Fenerbahce earlier this month.
Since August 2012 Klavan has made at least 108 more clearances than any other player in the Bundesliga (744).
