Manchester City are waiting to find out the extent of the calf injury captain Vincent Kompany sustained during their 2-1 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Kompany, 29, has enjoyed a stunning return to form during the early parts of this season and played a vital in part in City’s opener on the night before being substituted midway through the second half with the scores 1-1.
“We will have to see how Vincent is on Wednesday," City manager Manuel Pellegrini is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "We will check and see how serious the injury is."
Any prolonged absence would come as a serve blow to City’s form so far this season, as City are yet to concede in the league through five games.
