Arsenal superstar to reject contract extension

Mesut Ozil has told Arsenal has no intentions of signing a two-year contract extension, reports Marca.

The Germany international has the best part of two years left to run on his current deal and Arsenal are keen to get the 27-year-old, who is arguably in the best form of his career, to commit his future to the club.

However, the Gunners are set for bad news with Ozil set to reject any new deal amid rumours linking the former Real Madrid creator with a shock move to Barcelona.

The Arsenal No.11 is reportedly fed up of Arsenal’s inability to compete in Europe and has no desire to remain at the club beyond 2018 when his contract is set to expire.

Despite having failed to register an assist in any of his last five matches, Ozil has still got at least six more assists than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season (16).
