Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has confirmed he held talks with Manchester City over the summer.
Pep Guardiola’s side were heavily linked with a move for the Dortmund ace during the transfer window, as the City head coach seeked to strengthen his offensive options.
Aubameyang opted to remain with Dortmund and has already started the season in tremendous form and has now confirmed there were talks about a summer switch, although nothing came of them.
“It’s true, there was contact. My father held talks with the club, but in the end there was nothing concrete,” Aubameyang told Onze, via The Daily Mirror.
Since the start of last season only Robert Lewandowski (35) has scored more goals in the Bundesliga than Aubameyang (30).
