Liverpool unable to sign Lanzini, says West Ham chief

 

West Ham have an ‘unbreakable option’ to sign Manuel Lanzini, according to their co-chairman David Sullivan.

 

Lanzini, 22, is currently on loan from UAE side Al Jazira and has impressed since joining over the summer.

 

The Argentinian creator’s performances have attracted interest from Liverpool in the last few days, but the Hammers have moved to cool talk by revealing the terms in his loan agreement mean they are only ones that can sign him at the end of the season.

 

“We have an unbreakable option with both Lanzini and his club, so any other team’s interest is irrelevant,” Sullivan is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.

 

“Manuel has been fantastic signing for the club and we all hope he can maintain this superb run of form for the rest of the season.”

The former River Plate academy graduate is currently the second highest rated player for West Ham, according to WhoScored and no current teammate has a better pass success rate than the Argentine (88.3%).
