Gareth Bale looks set to miss out on the chance to play against former club Tottenham after being ruled out for a month with another muscle injury, reports Marca.
The 28-year-old was forced to pull out of Wales’ final World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Republic of Ireland after suffering a calf injury before Madrid’s 2-0 win over Espanyol last weekend.
Bale has struggled with a series of reoccurring muscular injuries ever since he left Tottenham to join Madrid in 2013 and now the Wales international will miss out on the chance to play against his former club as a result of another calf problem.
Madrid will play both of their Champions League group matches against Tottenham in the next four weeks, but will have to do so without Bale, who could miss a total of seven matches.
In seven appearances across league and European competition this season, Bale has played a direct hand in six goals for Madrid.
They should really sell this lad. He's quite useless. Injuring every month is bad for Real.
