Spain have called up Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal as a replacement for the injured Jordi Alba, reports The Daily Mirrror.
The Barcelona defender was forced off in the first half of Spain’s 1-1 draw with Italy on Thursday night and has been ruled out for their match against Albania next week.
Spain manager Julen Lopetegui has therefore given Monreal his first chance of appearing for the national team since November 2013.
Of the Spaniards to play more than 100 Premier League games, Monreal has the best win rate (65.7%).
