Manchester United earmark Wan-Bissaka alternative

Manchester United will turn their attentions to Norwich right-back Max Aarons if they fail to agree a fee with Crystal Palace for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, claims Sky Sports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have already had a £40m bid for Wan-Bissaka rejected but are expected to return with an improved £50m offer for the 21-year-old.

Wan-Bissaka has emerged as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League over the last 18 months and has been earmarked as Solskjaer’s first choice target to fill the void at right-back for next season.

Solskjaer wants United to sign Wan-Bissaka this summer to avoid a similar situation as they are facing with Leicester centre-back Harry Maguire.

United refused to pay £65m for the England international last summer and now Leicester are demanding £90m for the hulking centre-back.

United are hopeful of agreeing a deal for Wan-Bissaka below Palace’s £60m asking price but have identified Norwich starlet Aarons as an alternative.

The 19-year-old started 41 league matches for Norwich last season and played an integral role in their Championship-winning campaign.

Aarons has previously been linked with Tottenham and will become a target for Palace if they sell Wan-Bissaka to United.

Only Eberechi Eze (66) completed more dribbles than Aarons (56) in the Championship last season of players aged 21 and under.
