Stoke City could face the prospect of losing Marko Arnautovic for as little as £12.5m this summer due to the forward’s buy-out clause in his contract, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Arnautovic, 26, has been one of the stars of the season for the Potters this season, but his buy-out clause will become active when he enters the final 12 months of his current deal, which is in the summer.
The Austria international, who will have a larger audience to play in front of at the Euro’s in the summer, reportedly rejected Stoke’s extension offer earlier in the season after Stoke’s offer came in way under his own valuation.
Only three teams have scored fewer goals than Stoke (24) and when you consider Arnautovic (7) has scored at least two more goals than any other Potter this season, it would represent a huge blow to the trajectory they are currently on.
