Leicester City are monitoring Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani as the Premier League champions step up their transfer activity ahead of welcoming Champions League football next season, reports The Guardian.
Slimani, 27, has previously been linked with a move to Crystal Palace but Leicester are now in pole to sign the Algeria international following his impressive campaign with Sporting this season.
The Sporting frontman still has four years left to run on his current deal but the Portuguese giants are reportedly willing to listen to offers in the region of £25m.
Slimani is currently the second highest goalscorer in the Primeira Liga (26), behind Benfica frontman Jonas (31).
