Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar will miss both Champions League last-16 matches with Manchester United with a metatarsal injury, claims L’Equipe.
Neymar limped out of PSG’s 2-0 win over Strasbourg in the Coupe de France last week raising fears he suffered another serious foot injury.
The Brazil international missed the final 15 matches of last season through injury and it has now been confirmed the PSG star has damaged the same metatarsal.
PSG travel to Old Trafford for the first leg of their last-16 clash with United on February 12 and Thomas Tuchel admitted on Sunday that Neymar would struggle to recover in time.
However, it is now being reported that PSG will not be able to count on Neymar for eight weeks, also ruling the 26-year-old out of the return leg on March 6.
PSG still have Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe in attack but Neymar’s absence is a huge blow for the French giants.
Neymar has scored or assisted in all 13 of his Ligue 1 appearances this season, playing a direct hand in 19 goals in that time.
Only Lionel Messi (8.88) and Edin Dzeko (8.49) have garnered a higher WhoScored rating than Neymar (8.44) in the Champions League this season.
