Manchester United ready blockbuster offer for Arsenal captain

Manchester United are preparing a £50m move for Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reports The Metro.

United are looking at securing another striker in the summer as they look to revamp their squad ahead of a possible Champions League return.

The club have been going about strengthening in the last two transfer windows following the big money captures of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan Bissaka and Bruno Fernandes.

And United are set to be active in the market over the summer with Aubameyang a target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

However, United will face stiff competition from a number of Europe's elite sides for Aubameyang, with Inter and Barcelona also courting the 30-year-old.

Inter are braced for an influx of offers for prized forward Lautaro Martinez this summer and have earmarked a number of possible replacements for the Argentine, of which Aubameyang is one.

Aubameyang, who has scored 17 league goals this season, has a little over a year left to run on his current deal at Arsenal and it's believed the Gunners would rather sell the striker this summer rather than lose him on a free next year.
