Real Madrid back in for Chelsea star

Real Madrid have rekindled their interest in Eden Hazard and want to sign the Chelsea No.10 this summer, reports The Guardian.

Zinedine Zidane has been chasing Hazard’s signature for several years now although interest in the Chelsea star had cooled following his disappointing performances last season.

However, the Belgium international has returned to his best form this season and is on course to help Chelsea reclaim the Premier League title and now Madrid want to bring him to Spain.

Chelsea have no interest in parting ways with Hazard and are understood to be in talks about a new contract for their prize asset, but Madrid believe they can convince the Belgian to leave the Premier League outfit.

Hazard is not the only Chelsea player Madrid want to sign, either. Florentino Perez is keen to sign Thibaut Courtois as Keylor Navas’ replacement this summer and their interest has not cooled despite the fact the Belgium international has come out on record and dismissed the idea of leaving Chelsea for Madrid over the summer.

Madrid are even prepared to sell James Rodriguez and Alvaro Morata to bankroll their move for the Chelsea duo and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see either of those, or both, used as a makeweight in a deal to bring Hazard and Courtois to the Bernabeu.

Hazard is currently the highest rated player in the Premier League (7.89) after scoring 11 goals and registering four assists, while no goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets in England’s top tier this season than Courtois (13).
