Hamburg have announced they have sacked Bruno Labbadia just five months into his second stint at the club.
The Bundesliga side have taken just one point from their opening five matches after losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich on Saturday.
“The step is necessary in view of our sporting trends,” Hamburg chairman Dieter Beiersdorfer told the club’s official website. “I am convinced that we need to make a change to the coach position now to provide the sporting turnaround after a disappointing start to the season.
“After long preparation and the previous games we have to state that our footballing development as a whole does not meet our demands.”
Only Schalke (1) have scored fewer goals in the Bundesliga than Hamburg this season (2).
