Manchester City earmark Sane replacement in Germany

Manchester City have identified Kingsley Coman as a potential replacement for Leroy Sane, claims Sky Sports.

Bayern Munich are expected to rekindle their interest in Sane at the end of the season when the City winger will only have 12 months remaining on his current deal.

A serious knee injury sustained at the start of August scuppered Bayern's plans to sign Sane last summer after months of intense speculation.

Sane is considering his future at the Etihad after dropping out of favour last season and the City squad are reportedly convinced he will join Bayern next summer.

City will be forced to sign a replacement if Sane leaves the club and Guardiola is understood to be interested in a reunion with Bayern winger Coman.

The Spaniard worked with Coman during his final year at Bayern and City believe the France international is a like-for-like replacement for Sane.

Coman's best season for Bayern to date came during his time with Guardiola, where he started 20 league matches and made a further three substitute appearances.

Coman, who has struggled with serious ankle injuries over the last few years, has enjoyed a remarkable career already at the age of just 23.

The Frenchman came through Paris Saint-Germain's academy before spending three years at Juventus prior to joining Bayern on an initial two-year loan deal in 2015.

Of players to have made more than 50 appearances in the Bundesliga since August 2015, Coman requires the fewest minutes per successful dribble (one every 22.7 minutes of action).
