Premier League boss the frontrunner for vacant Everton job
Burnley manager Sean Dyche is a frontrunner to succeed Ronald Koeman as Everton boss, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Everton sacked Koeman on Monday afternoon and the Merseysiders have started an imminent search for his successor.
Sam Allardyce and Carlo Ancelotti, who are both out of work, have been linked with the Everton job, but Burnley boss Dyche is also a frontrunner.
Leicester are also interested in appointing Dyche after the Foxes sacked Craig Shakespeare last week but could now face stiff competition from Everton.
Everton currently occupy the final position in the bottom three after winning two of their opening eight league matches.
The Toffees spent just south of £150m in the summer but it has been nothing short of a disaster since then, particularly as they failed to replace Romelu Lukaku.
In fact, the Manchester United striker has scored as many Premier League goals this season as Everton have managed as a team (7).
Burnley meanwhile are up in eighth after taking points from seven of their first nine matches.
Dyche has done a tremendous job during his five years in charge of the Clarets and it would be a surprise to seem him turn down any opportunity to manage Everton, given he would not be able to get a job at a club with greater potential and stature.
