Barcelona could rekindle their long-standing interest in Chelsea winger Willian at the end of the season, reports The Daily Telegraph.
The Spanish giants have pursued Willian’s signature in each of the last two transfer windows and even had a £55m bid rejected last summer.
This summer represents the last opportunity for Chelsea to command a sizeable fee for Willian as he will only have 12 months left to run on his current deal.
Willian will turn 31 before the start of next season and is unlikely to be rewarded with a new long-term contract by Chelsea.
Barcelona are weighing up another move for Willian this summer but it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will be in a position to sell the Brazil international.
Chelsea have a FIFA-imposed transfer ban looming off their heads and will not be able to sell too many players if they are unable to replace them.
With Eden Hazard expected to join Real Madrid, coupled with the uncertainty around Callum Hudson-Odoi’s future, Chelsea may have to block Willian’s departure this summer.
Willian has only started 23 league games this season and has actually played a more prominent role in Chelsea’s Europa League campaign.
The 30-year-old has played a direct hand in more goals in 11 European appearances this season (10) than he has 29 league appearances (nine).
