Schalke eye up Sane replacement

Bundesliga side Schalke will make a move for Southampton’s Dusan Tadic as they gear up for Leroy Sane’s move to Manchester City, reports the Mail on Sunday.

The Germany international is widely expected to depart for the Premier League giants before the season starts and Schalke are keen to bring in the Serb creator as Sane’s replacement.

Tadic lost his place in the Saints side during the season, but ended the campaign impressively, scoring two goals and registering a further six assists in his last five Premier League appearances.

His fine end of season form meant only Mesut Ozil (19) and Christian Eriksen (13) registered more assists than the 27-year-old (12) in England’s top tier last term.

Tadic has been offered a new deal to remain on the south coast, but is widely expected to depart for pastures new this summer.
