Everton prepare Arsenal raid

Everton will look to replace Tim Howard with Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny if the United States international returns to MLS at the end of the season, reports The Sun.

Howard, 36, has come in for criticism this season and there have been calls for Roberto Martinez to drop the veteran shot-stopper, who has since been linked with a move to Colorado Rapids in MLS.

Reports have now emerged claiming the Everton boss will aim to replace the former Manchester United goalkeeper with Szczesny, who is currently on a season-long loan deal with Roma in Serie A.

Everton prepare Arsenal raid

The 25-year-old will return to Arsenal in the summer after Roma declined the option to make the switch permanent and his future would seemingly be away from the Emirates with Petr Cech the undisputed No.1 between the sticks.

Since the start of the season only three other goalkeepers have saved more shots from outside of the box than Szczesny (34), who has played at least two games fewer than those above him.
