Wilshere wants assurances before signing new Arsenal deal
Jack Wilshere will speak to new Arsenal manager Unai Emery before deciding whether to sign a new deal at the club, reports the London Evening Standard.
Arsenal have tabled an improved offer to retain Wilshere's services, as the No.10 is out of contract this summer.
Wilshere’s preference is to stay at Arsenal but the England international wants assurances from Emery before pledging his future to the club.
Emery wants to overhaul the club’s midfield options this summer and the Gunners are already in talks with Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini.
Jean Seri has also been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks, while Emery reportedly wants to build his midfield around Aaron Ramsey.
Wilshere is understandably concerned and will likely leave Arsenal if Emery fails to guarantee regular playing time, with Crystal Palace among the sides monitoring his future.
The Arsenal No.10 overcame his injury problems last season but it still wasn't good enough to make England’s squad for the 2018 World Cup.
Interestingly, Arsenal had a better win ratio in the Premier League last season when Wilshere did not start (53.8%) compared to when he did (41.7%).

If he were any other nationality, he would have been sold along time ago. Not at the level needed for a club like Arsenal.
With per game numbers of: - 1.2 tackles - 0.9 interceptions - 2.1 long balls - 0.3 through passes - 2 dribbles - 0.8 shots Wilshere is bloody lucky (and Arsenal are stupid) to even get (be offered) a contract.
