Liverpool are ready to reward Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with a fresh four-year deal running until the summer of 2023, claims The Daily Mail.
Oxlade-Chamberlain ended his 12-month injury hell in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield on Friday with a 17-minute cameo.
The England international was initially ruled out for the whole season after suffering a serious knee injury in April last year.
Oxlade-Chamberlain worked hard on his rehabilitation and is now ready to help Liverpool over the line in their last few games of the season.
His existing £120,000-a-week deal is due to expire in the summer of 2023 but Liverpool are set to reward the versatile midfielder with a 12-month extension.
The 25-year-old made 32 league appearances in his first season at Liverpool and returned three goals and seven assists.
Why would any club sign any player coming off a serious injury with 4 years left on his contract to an extension?
