Torino presidente Urbano Cairo has slammed Joe Hart after another goalkeeping error cost his side all three points against Serie A strugglers Crotone.
Hart, who turned 30 over the weekend, has spent the season on loan at Torino after falling down the pecking order at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola at the start of the campaign.
The England international is due back to City when his loan deal expires at the end of the season but his future remains up in the air and the Torino president believes the goalkeeper is distracted by constant speculation.
“There’s too much being said about Hart,” he told Tuttosport, via The Independent. “Since this has been happening, his performance levels have dropped. This is already the third time we concede a goal this way and that’s a bit too much.
“It happens and I like him, but come on… He’s a great goalkeeper, though, and let’s see how things evolve.”
Torino have already made it clear they would like to keep Hart beyond the end of the current season but do not have the financial resources to secure his signature on a permanent basis, which would require another loan deal, although that appears unlikely.
Only Josip Posavec (7) has committed more errors that have directly led to an opposition goal in Serie A this season than Hart (5).
