Pogba set to make shock u-turn on Manchester United future

Paul Pogba has been impressed by Manchester United's turnaround under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is prepared to pledge his long-term future to the club, claims The Daily Mail.

The France international has been angling for a move away from United since the end of last season and was widely expected to leave the club this summer.

Pogba has not featured for United since Boxing Day but is expected to make his return from injury before the end of the month.

United have managed well without their star midfielder and the arrival of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting has helped fire the club to the brink of Champions League football for next season.

Pogba has been particularly impressed by the impact made by Fernandes and is understood to be excited by the prospect of playing with the Portugal international.

So much so that Pogba is open to staying and United and extending his current deal that has two years left to run.

Despite the recent upturn in form, securing Champions League football for next season will likely determine whether Pogba stays or not.

Pogba has only made seven Premier League appearances this season due to injury and has two assists in that time.

Once considered the first name on the team-sheet, Pogba should not expect to walk straight back into the side once back to full fitness.

Fred, Scott McTominay, Fernandes and even Nemanja Matic have excelled in Pogba's absence, leaving the Frenchman with work to do to regain Solskjaer's faith and trust.
