Bayern Munich defender considering future in Germany as LaLiga duo circle
Bayern Munich defender David Alaba is considering his future with the Bundesliga champions, with Real Madrid and Barcelona interested, according to SportBild.
Alaba's current deal expires in 18 months' time and he is pondering another challenge in his career.
Bayern supremo Uli Hoeness recently stated that: "We have four or five important players, whose contracts expire next year. I know that there are talks with all of them at the moment. And I really hope that everything will be successful."
However, with nothing concrete in place at present, the LaLiga powerhouse pair could move to lure Alaba away from Bayern.
The Bundesliga champions endured a stuttering start to their title defence, yet currently sit top of the league, four points ahead of Borussia Dortmund.
The 27-year-old is believed to be valued at around £60m, which would be something of a bargain buy for a player of his calibre and defensive versatility.
Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in Alaba in recent weeks, yet the Blues would likely sit behind Real Madrid and Barcelona in the pecking order if Bayern do elect to sell.
