Confirmed lineups: Tottenham vs Manchester United - Davies and Young claim full-back spots

Tottenham and Manchester United have revealed the starting line-ups many expected ahead of their showdown this afternoon as the visitors aim to record six consecutive wins under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The hosts, however, will have other ideas as they aim to stay in the title race, fresh from a morale boosting victory in the Carabao Cup semi-final first league against Chelsea.

Hugo Lloris returns to the Tottenham line-up in place of Paulo Gazzaniga, while Ben Davies gets the nod in the one real selection dilemma at left-back, replacing Danny Rose from the side that started in midweek.

Four of the five league defeats Spurs have suffered this season have come in the 12 matches that Rose has not started this season, with Pochettino’s side coming out on top in eight of the England international’s nine league starts.

Elsewhere Jan Vertonghen makes his long awaited return to the backline, with Davinson Sanchez having to make do with a place on the bench as a result.

Manchester United, as expected, have made wholesale changes from the FA Cup win over Reading, with only Phil Jones and Ashley Young keeping their places in the line-up. The XI is close to that which won at Newcastle, with Jesse Lingard replacing Juan Mata and the aforementioned Young keeping out Antonio Valencia

The Red Devils have only lost one of the seven league matches that Young has not started this season, so his place in the side ahead of Valencia, Dalot and Darmian is one of the big decisions Solskjaer has made for the trip to Wembley.
