Blues consider approach for France boss

Chelsea are weighing up the idea of approaching Didier Deschamps to take over the Stamford Bridge helm, suggests the Sunday Mirror.

The France head coach will oversee the national team at Euro 2016, but his contract expires upon the culmination of the competition.

Chelsea are keen to appoint a manager with a long-term vision having appointed Guus Hiddink twice and Rafa Benitez in the interim in recent seasons.

Deschamps has enjoyed impressive success for Monaco, Juventus and Marseille in the past, with his managerial exploits impressing Blues owner Roman Abramovich.

The former Chelsea midfielder remains a fan favourite of the club from his single season in west London having won the FA Cup during his time there as a player.
