Loïc Remy insists he has no desire to leave Chelsea this summer despite a wave of interest from other Premier League clubs.
The arrival of former Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao is likely to see first-team chances even harder to come by for the France international next season, particularly with Jose Mourinho’s preferred formation favouring only one striker.
However, Remy has snubbed the interest from Crystal Palace and West Ham United in favour of trying to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans next season.
“I’m flattered by other teams wanting me, but I have never wanted to leave this club because I feel really good here,” Remy is quoted as saying in the London Evening Standard.
"Of course I want to play more but I am sure I can do that here. That’s my target. I will just try to make it happen, by working hard and showing the manager he can count on me. My mind is here and I don’t want to leave.
“I know there are a lot of games and I will have my chance. I have to be ready at a good time and not be injured. I was happy with what I did last season, but I want to do more. I want to play and score more. My focus is the same.”
Remy, who signed from Queens Park Rangers less than a year ago, was restricted to just six starts in the Premier League last season.
The French striker made a further 13 appearances from the bench, but still managed to score seven goals, requiring just 95.4 minutes per goal – the best of any Chelsea player in the Premier League last season.
