Crystal Palace bolster attack with Celtic hitman

Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of Odsonne Edouard from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.

The Frenchman had been linked with a move to the likes of Leicester, Arsenal and Brighton, yet it's Palace who have taken the plunge on the young striker.

"Crystal Palace have signed Odsonne Edouard from Celtic on a four-year deal," a statement read on the club's official website.

"The 23-year-old striker arrives in south London having scored three goals already in the 2021/22 Scottish Premiership, taking his tally with Celtic to an impressive 86 goals from 179 appearances.

"He becomes the seventh signing under Patrick Vieira."

On his move to Selhurst Park, Edouard said: "I’m very happy to be here today. I can’t [wait] start to train with the team and to play for this club… Scoring goals in the Premier League may be the biggest challenge in my career.

"But I’m confident in myself and my teammates to be successful."

Edouard has scored more clear-cut goalscoring chances (16) than any other player since the start of the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season.
