Oscar has welcomed the idea of former Chelsea teammate Diego Costa joining him in securing a big money move to China as uncertainty around the striker’s future rumbles on.
Chelsea rebuffed interest from Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quanjin at the start of the year but Fabio Cannavaro’s side are expected to firm up their interest with another move at the end of the current campaign.
Antonio Conte’s side sold Oscar to Shanghai SIPG in a mouth-watering £60m deal in January and the Brazil international says he would be delighted if Costa joined him in China.
“It’s hard for me to give specific advice to Costa. The only thing I can tell him is that I quite enjoy my life in China,” he told CCTV-5, via AS. “I don’t have any problems so far. The culture here is obviously very different from that of my country, but we are getting used to it, bit by bit.
“Everyone has got to figure out the things he wants most. And I believe coming to China is the best choice for me. If Costa moves here, I will be delighted. He is pursuing happiness and I hope everyone has a happy life.”
Costa has fired Chelsea to two league titles in three seasons at the club but it does appear his time at Stamford Bridge is coming to an end and a big money payday in China is on the horizon.
Since arriving from Atletico Madrid in 2014, only Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane (both 62) have scored more goals in the Premier League than Costa (52).
