West Ham striker could get new deal

West Ham are weighing up whether to offer Diafra Sakho a new contract less than two months after he attempted to force through a move away from the club, reports The Daily Mail.

Sakho spent deadline day trying to force through a move to Rennes and even underwent a medical with the French side without West Ham’s permission.

The Hammers deemed Sakho too important to sell and Slaven Bilic’s side have been impressed by the attitude he has shown in the wake of his failed move away.

Sakho’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season but the Senegal international has scored three goals in his last three appearances for club and country, including a last minute winner against Swansea in West Ham’s last outing.

Since August 2015, West Ham have won a greater proportion of their Premier League matches when Sakho has started (45%) compared to when he has not (33.3%).
