Juventus target clouds doubt over his Lyon future

Corentin Tolisso has confirmed that his ambition is to play in the Champions League but admits he doesn’t know whether that will be at Lyon or not.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus this season after impressing in midfield for Lyon and the Ligue 1 side are bracing themselves for offers at the end of the season.

Lyon have missed out on the chance to qualify for the Champions League next season and Juventus have been offered further encouragement in their pursuit of the France international following his latest comments.

“I do not know if I will be at Lyon next year,” Tolisso told AFP, via Get French Football. “I want to play in the Champions League and to do the World Cup.

“To be at the World Cup, you need to play the top, top matches. And you play the top matches in the Champions League.”

Juventus target clouds doubt over his Lyon future

Tolisso has established himself as a first-team regular for Lyon in the last three seasons but is currently enjoying his best football to date.

The versatile midfielder, who can operate as a defensive midfielder, a central midfielder and in advanced central areas, has scored eight league goals and weighed in with four assists this season in Ligue 1.

Not only that, but no Lyon player averages more passes per league game this season than the Lyon No.8 (64.6).
