Manchester City youngster set for new £50,000-a-week deal

Manchester City will hand Oleksandr Zinchenko a new contract worth in excess of £50,000-a-week, claims The Sun.

Zinchenko’s current deal is not due to expire until the summer of 2021 but City will reward the 21-year-old with new terms to reflect his importance in the squad.

The Ukraine international has broken into the City first-team this season and even managed to adapt to a left-back position despite being an attacking midfield by trade.

Pep Guardiola’s side have already tied down David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Nicolas Otamendi and Fernandinho to new contracts this season and they aren’t looking to stop there.

Zinchenko has garnered an impressive WhoScored rating of 7.26 from four appearances in the Premier League this season despite playing out of position in all of them.

Furthermore, no Premier League player averages more tackles per game than the City youngster (4.5) this season.
