Atletico Madrid are set to beat Arsenal and Valencia to the signature of Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, according to Calciomercato.com.
Batshuayi, 22, has emerged as one of the brightest strikers in Europe this season and has unsurprisingly courted interest from a number of clubs on the continent.
However, Arsenal may have to look elsewhere to strengthen their frontline with Atletico reportedly willing to pay £35m for the forward’s services.
Only Benjamin Moukandjo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic (both 9) have scored more goals in Ligue 1 this season than Batshuayi (8).
