Leicester star charged with improper conduct

The Football Association have confirmed Jamie Vardy has been charged with improper conduct for his behaviour following his sending off against West Ham on Sunday.

Vardy, 29, was shown his first red card in five years in Leicester’s 2-2 draw with the Hammers on Sunday and reacted aggressively towards referee Jon Moss.

The England international was caught using explicit language towards the official following his dismissal in the second half and he could now be banned for an additional match.

Vardy has been integral behind Leicester’s stunning campaign this season and he has until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge otherwise he could face missing out against Manchester United, as well as the Swansea match at the weekend.

In the 12 league matches Leicester have played without Vardy since the start of last season, the Foxes have only managed a measly win ratio of 25% compared to a win ratio of 48.3% with him in the team from 60 matches. Notably, they also score significantly fewer goals without him (0.83 per game).
