Manchester United are preparing a big money move for Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets, reports the Express via Fichajes.
Contract talks between the Spain international and Barcelona have supposedly stalled and United are ready to swoop to take him to Old Trafford.
With Michael Carrick expected to depart at the end of the season and Bastian Schweinsteiger's ongoing injury problems, United have lined up Busquets as the ideal arrival this summer.
Louis van Gaal's side are supposedly in pole position to secure the services of the 27-year-old at the end of the season, though would face competition from a host of Europe's top clubs if Barcelona indeed decide to sanction his sale.
It is thought that Busquets is demanding a pay rise, but Barcelona are yet to respond to his requests as of yet.
