Sergio Aguero will undergo a scan on his leg to find out whether the Manchester City striker can play again this season, reports The Daily Mail.
The Argentina international limped off during Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough with a suspected dead leg but City are waiting to discover whether their star striker has suffered further damage that could rule him out for some of their last five league matches of the season.
It will come as huge frustration for Pep Guardiola, having just welcomed back Gabriel Jesus from a long-term ankle injury now only to lose his other striker.
Aguero’s future at the club has come into question this season following the emergence of Jesus since he completed his move from Palmeiras in January and this latest injury will only fuel further rumours if the Brazilian finishes the season strongly.
Jesus has scored four goals and registered one assist in six league appearances for City this season, while Aguero is the club’s top goalscorer on 18.
