Watford beat PSG to La Liga forward

Watford are on the verge of beating the likes of Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain to the signature of Granada forward Isaac Success, according to the London Evening Standard.

Success, 20, has flourished for Granada in his first full season at the club and is now set for a high profile move at the end of the season.

Atletico, PSG and Inter have all reportedly shown an interest in the versatile forward but Watford are in pole position due to the fact their owners, the Pozzo family, also own Granada.

Success would follow in the footsteps of Odion Ighalo in joining the Hornets from the La Liga minnows and his agent has all but confirmed a deal to Watford.

“Granada are not releasing him to any other club except Watford,” Dominic Egbukwu said.

“Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain have approached us. Plenty of teams want him.

Watford and Granada are still negotiating. The wages are still being discussed. The only transfer fee Watford will have to pay is a 10 per cent sell-on clause to BJ Foundation Academy [his first club in Nigeria].

Watford have struggled for goals when Troy Deeney and Ighalo, who combined have scored 69% of Watford’s 36 goals this season (25 – Ighalo 14, Deeney 11) and Success would certainly add another dimension to their offensive options.

Success has scored six times in 30 appearances for Granada this season, but he has notably completed eight more dribbles than any other teammate in the league (66).
