Real Madrid agree world record fee for Mbappe

Real Madrid have agreed a world record fee in principle with Monaco for the signing of Kylian Mbappe, reports Spanish publication Marca.

The La Liga giants have recently sold Alvaro Morata and Danilo, and have loaned out James Rodriguez, which freed up the necessary funds to launch a move for the teenage sensation.

Real Madrid are rumoured to be paying €160m up front for the France international and an extra €20m in add-ons.

Monaco had been keen on retaining Mbappe’s services this summer, particularly following the sales of Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

However, a world record fee was too much to turn down and the La Liga and European champions now look set to negotiate personal terms with the 18-year-old.

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain had both been credited with an interest in Mbappe, but the forward had his heart set on a move to Real Madrid, with a move to the Spanish capital now edging closer.
