Monaco star jets into Manchester ahead of Premier League switch
Monaco star Bernardo Silva has arrived in Manchester ahead a summer move to the Premier League, reports Manchester Evening News.
The Portugal international has been strongly linked with a switch to one of Manchester City and Manchester United once the transfer window opens, though it’s believed City are leading the way to secure his services.
United were rumoured to be in advanced talks with Silva’s representatives over a possible transfer to Old Trafford earlier this week, though City have supposedly stolen a march on their rivals in the pursuit of the youngster.
City boss Pep Guardiola has a wealth of attacking options, but last month hinted that he is keen to add to his forward line this summer.
“The big qualities in the big, big clubs is when you are close to the box of the opponent, the players don’t lose the ball,” Guardiola is quoted as saying by Manchester Evening News.
“Big teams don’t lose the ball.”
Silva played a key role in knocking City out of the Champions League back in March and won possession in the attacking third more times (38) than any other player in Ligue 1 this season.

Could Guardiola be recruiting him to play in a wingback role, he started his career as a fullback and Guardiola has a history of moving astute ball playing wingers into Fullback roles. I can't see why he'd want to strengthen his attacking midfield when he already has a wealth of options...
@foogle94 - I most likely see him playing winger for City. He's too slight to play in the middle, and too valuable to play fullback.
