Blaise Matuidi has revealed he is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a contract extension despite reports linking him with a move to Juventus.
The France international was close to joining Juventus in the summer before a move collapsed, but Max Allegri’s side are reportedly keen in rekindling their interest in the January transfer window.
However, the 29-year-old, who has entered the final two years of his existing deal, has no ruled out staying with PSG beyond the end of this season and extending his stay at the Ligue 1 champions.
“My contract extension is a possibility, I am letting my agent deal with that, there are discussions under way,” Matuidi told Europe 1, via Get French Football.
“He is the one dealing with this, my priority is what is going on on the pitch. I am at PSG as I currently talk to you, there is nothing else to say for the moment, I want to do good things with PSG."
Matuidi has been forced to make five appearances from the bench this season in Ligue 1, which is almost close to matching his substitute activity from the whole of last season (eight appearances from the bench).
Only four players have completed more interceptions in the last seven Ligue 1 campaigns than Matuidi (457).
