Leicester will have to pay £2.5m to poach Premier League rival boss
Leicester will have to fork out £2.5m in compensation if they want Burnley manager Sean Dyche to succeed Craig Shakespeare, claims The Daily Mail.
The Foxes made the shock decision to sack Shakespeare at the start of the week with the club two points adrift of safety after just one win from their opening eight league games.
Leicester do not have a replacement lined up to replace Shakespeare, who was only appointed permanent manager during the summer, but Dyche has been installed as an early favourite for the job.
Dyche has done an impressive job at Burnley and is reportedly interested in speaking with Leicester about the vacant role.
However, it is now understood that the 46-year-old secretly penned an improved contract with Burnley earlier this year and the Clarets moved to protect their man by increasing his buy-out clause to £2.5m.
In five years in charge of Burnley, Dyche has overseen two promotions to the Premier League and also guided the club to seventh in England’s top-tier last time.
This season, Dyche has already masterminded wins away to Chelsea and Burnley and draws at Liverpool and Tottenham.
