Chelsea identify Leicester ace as summer priority

Chelsea have made Ben Chilwell one of their priority signings this summer, but Leicester are set to demand at least £85m for the England international, reports The Athletic.

Frank Lampard has made no secret of his desire to bring in a new left-back this summer with Emerson and Marcos Alonso failing to convince the Blues boss.

A host of left-backs have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, including Nicolas Tagliafico and Alex Telles, but Chilwell remains Chelsea's top target.

However, the Foxes won't allow Chilwell to leave on the cheap with Leicester demanding at least £85m for the 23-year-old.

It remains to be seen whether this asking price will deter the west London side from making a move for Chilwell with Leicester keen to retain his services.

That said, it's rumoured that Leicester have been scouring the market in search of a possible successor for Chilwell, with Luke Shaw and Kieran Tierney supposed targets for Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers.

Chelsea aren't the only side to have been linked with a move for Chilwell, with Manchester City also credited with an interest in the youngster as Pep Guardiola weighs up his left-back options.
