Juventus focus on Manchester United outcast Anthony Martial
Juventus have turned their attentions to signing Manchester United outcast Anthony Martial this summer, claims Tuttosport, via Football Italia.
Jose Mourinho’s side will listen to offers for Martial this summer after it was revealed the France international turned down a contract extension earlier this year.
United have no interest selling Martial to a Premier League rival and the likes of Barcelona have already been linked with a move for the 22-year-old.
Juventus want to re-sign Alvaro Morata this summer but his wages will reportedly prove a stumbling block too big for them to overcome.
Max Allegri’s side will instead focus their resources on prising Martial away from Old Trafford in a bid to bolster their offensive options ahead of next season.
United have been heavily linked with a move for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro this month, but it remains to be seen whether either club would be willing to negotiate a swap deal.
Martial has dropped further down the pecking under Mourinho since Alexis Sanchez’s arrival in January, while the Red Devils are now expected to revive their long-standing interest in Gareth Bale.
The arrival of the Real Madrid star would almost certainly be the end of Martial’s three-year stint at United. In that time, Martial has scored more Premier League goals than any other player at the club (24).
