Rennes rule out summer sale of Manchester United and Liverpool target
Rennes have ruled out the summer sale of prized asset Eduardo Camavinga despite interest from a host of Europe's elite sides.
The teenage midfielder is being courted by the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United having enjoyed a fine breakthrough season in Ligue 1.
Indeed, Camavinga has made more tackles per game (4.2) than any other player in France's top tier this term to reinforce a statistically calculated WhoScored strength of 'tackling'.
He has grown into a key player for the French side, but the Ligue 1 outfit insist Camavinga is going nowhere this summer.
"For Eduardo Camavinga, the project is to continue to progress at Stade Rennais," club president Nicolas Holveck told RTL via The Standard.
17-year-old Camavinga won ample admirers for his standout display in Rennes' 2-1 win over defending champions PSG back in August and his stock has soared since.
United and Liverpool are keen on securing his services this summer, but they'd face competition from Real Madrid, who are looking to inject youth into their ageing midfield.
