Chelsea receive stunning £100m double deal offer from Real Madrid
Real Madrid have tabled a shock £100m deal to sign Willian and Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea, reports The Daily Mail.
The European champions have money to spend this summer following the shock departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus for £90m earlier this month.
Madrid wanted to sign the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe or Eden Hazard to replace Ronaldo but have reluctantly conceded defeat in pursuit of all three.
Julian Lopetegui’s side have now sensationally turned their attentions to signing Hazard’s Chelsea team-mate, Willian.
The Brazil international was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona but the Spanish side failed to get a deal over the line due to Chelsea’s £70m asking price.
Barcelona instead hi-jacked Roma’s move for 21-year-old Brazilian forward Malcom, leaving Willian facing the prospect of another season at Chelsea.
Manchester United are also in the market for Willian but Maurizio Sarri's side would prefer to sell the 29-year-old abroad and are now understood to be considering Madrid’s offer.
Madrid have offered Chelsea a shock £100m sum to prise Willian and first choice goalkeeper Courtois away from Stamford Bridge.
Lopetegui’s side want to replace Keylor Navas between the sticks with a high profile name and have made Courtois their top transfer target.
The Belgium international has 12 months left to run on his current Chelsea deal and has stalled on signing a new contract for the last year.
Chelsea will reluctantly allow Courtois to join Madrid this summer but must first line up a replacement for the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper.
Courtois was awarded the FIFA Golden Glove at the 2018 World Cup. No goalkeeper kept more clean sheets in the tournament than the 26-year-old (3)
I doubt Real Madrid would offer more for Willian than Barcelona was claimed to offer for him. You need to look at your rating for Courtois. You appear to have him at 15th among the goalkeepers in his league. You put Navas at a close third behind Oblak and Ter Stegen in Real Madrid's league. This difference seems too large to ignore despite my not knowing how your ratings can be claimed or shown to be reliable.
