Samuel Umtiti believes his France international team-mate Antoine Griezmann would be a great addition at Barcelona.
Griezmann is widely expected to leave Atletico Madrid this summer despite signing a bumper new deal 12 months ago.
The 27-year-old almost joined Manchester United at the end of last season but is now expected to sign for Barcelona in the coming months.
The Spanish champions will reportedly trigger Griezmann’s €100m release clause at the start of July, much to Atletico’s dismay.
Members of the Barcelona hierarchy have stopped mentioning Griezmann to the media in recent weeks in a bid to cool frosty relations with Atletico.
However, it hasn’t stopped some of Barcelona’s players talking up Griezmann’s potential arrival, with Umtiti the latest to contribute to the saga.
“He [Griezmann] is a fantastic player, we know his quality. In any group, he would be important. He could help us a lot,” AS quote Umtiti as saying.
